Tereos CEO criticizes EU-Mercosur trade agreement

Olivier Leducq, CEO of the French sugar-and-ethanol group Tereos, has expressed opposition to the approval of the European Union-Mercosur trade agreement in its current form, warning of significant impacts on the sugar and ethanol sectors. “At a time when our cooperative members are focused on implementing regenerative agricultural practices, how can our farms compete with imports that fail to meet the same environmental and social standards?” Mr. Leducq questioned in a LinkedIn post.
